Fully Welded vs Crush Bent Classroom Tables – and why we don’t sell Crush Bent

When choosing classroom furniture, schools often focus on price, appearance and delivery times. However, durability, safety and practicality are equally important considerations. Two of the most common construction methods for classroom tables are fully welded frames and crush bent frames.

Fully Welded Classroom Tables
Fully welded tables are manufactured using steel tube legs and rails that are permanently welded together to form a rigid frame.

Advantages

Crush bent frames are manufactured by flattening and bending steel tube sections to create joints without separate welded connections.

For schools that regularly clear classrooms for exams, assemblies or cleaning, the ability to stack tables safely can be just as important as the table’s purchase price.

Conclusion

If the priority is lowest initial cost, crush bent tables may be suitable. However, if the priority is durability, stability, longevity and safe stacking, fully welded tables are usually the better long-term investment.

Many schools find that spending slightly more on a fully welded frame results in lower replacement costs, improved safety and furniture that continues to perform reliably for many years.

However, all things considered we have taken the decision not to supply crush bent tables. Mainly due to safety concerns.
